About Us
"Bula" means "life' in Fijian, and is used as a word of welcome. We think it's the perfect name for our company, because we want to provide you the kind of service you'd expect from a personal concierge, welcoming you at the start of your journey.
Bula Inc. was founded by Dennis Keenan, who has been surrounded by Fijian culture for over 25 years. Here's his story in his words:
"My family has been involved in Fiji in over 40 years as owners of resort properties in Fiji.
I remember the first time I arrived in Fiji, just out of college and only 20 years old. The beauty, people, the warmth, and laughter—it was like no place I had ever been before. I knew this exotic land would be a part of me forever.
In the 25 years of traveling to Fiji, I have visited all of the resorts that we have hand picked for your selection. I remember traveling to one particular resort put on the north island. We landed our small single engine plane on a grass runway in the hills. There waiting for me was Ed the Fijian driver, who took me in a windowless 4-wheel drive vehicle, through the jungle on the dirt and rock road to the isolated resort.
It was there I had the most amazing dive of my life, seeing fish the size of small cars and coral walls the size of buildings. I will never forget that day. It helped cement my soul in the country of Fiji.
My love for Fiji has led to the creation of Bula Inc. Through Bula, I can share my first love with anyone that has not had the advantage to visit this amazing place."
